Optimization of Hierarchical

چکیده
Clustering is often used for discovering structure in data. Clustering systems diier in the objective function used to evaluate clustering quality and the control strategy used to search the space of clusterings. Ideally, the search strategy should consistently construct clusterings of high quality, but be computationally inexpensive as well. In general, we cannot have it both ways, but we can partition the search so that a system inexpensively constructs a `tentative' clustering for initial examination, followed by iterative optimization, which continues to search in background for improved clusterings. Given this motivation, we evaluate an inexpensive strategy for creating initial clusterings, coupled with several control strategies for iterative optimization, each of which repeatedly modiies an initial clustering in search of a better one. One of these methods appears novel as an iterative optimization strategy in clustering contexts. Once a clustering has been constructed it is judged by analysts { often according to task-speciic criteria. Several authors have abstracted these criteria and posited a generic performance task akin to pattern completion, where the error rate over completed patterns is used tòexternally' judge clustering utility. Given this performance task, we adapt resampling-based pruning strategies used by supervised learning systems to the task of simplifying hierarchical clusterings, thus promising to ease post-clustering analysis. Finally, we propose a number of objective functions, based on attribute-selection measures for decision-tree induction, that might perform well on the error rate and simplicity dimensions.

This paper designs an Optimized Adaptive Combined Hierarchical Sliding Mode Controller (OACHSMC) for a time-varying crane model in presence of uncertainties. Uncertainties have always been one of the most important challenges in designing control systems, which include the unknown parameters or un-modeled dynamics in the systems. Sliding mode controller (SMC) is able to compensate the system in...
متن کاملA hierarchical approach for designing the downstream segment for a supply chain of petroleum production systems
Strategic decisions in a supply chain are the most important decisions for petroleum production systems. These decisions, due to high costs of transportation and storing, are costly and affected by the tactical and operational decisions in uncertain situations. In this article, we focus on designing a downstream segment for a supply chain of petroleum production systems. For this purpose, we wi...
متن کاملA Hierarchical Production Planning and Finite Scheduling Framework for Part Families in Flexible Job-shop (with a case study)
Tendency to optimization in last decades has resulted in creating multi-product manufacturing systems. Production planning in such systems is difficult, because optimal production volume that is calculated must be consistent with limitation of production system. Hence, integration has been proposed to decide about these problems concurrently. Main problem in integration is how we can relate pro...

The hub location problem is employed for many real applications, including delivery, airline and telecommunication systems and so on. This work investigates on hierarchical hub network in which a three-level network is developed. The central hubs are considered at the first level, at the second level, hubs are assumed which are allocated to central hubs and the remaining nodes are at the third ...

In this research, a hierarchical location-allocation problem is modeled in a queue framework. The queue model is considered as M/M/1/k, in which system capacity is finite, equals to k. This is the main contribution of the current research. Customer's enters to the system in order to find the service according to a Poisson. In this problem, the hierarchical location-allocation model is considere...
متن کاملComplete / Incomplete Hierarchical Hub Center Single Assignment Network Problem
In this paper we present the problem of designing a three level hub center network. In our network, the top level consists of a complete network where a direct link is between all central hubs. The second and third levels consist of star networks that connect the hubs to central hubs and the demand nodes to hubs and thus to central hubs, respectively. We model this problem in an incomplete net...
